Learning with One-to-One Course

This training will inspire educators to leverage one to one computing to explore new models for teaching and learning, to build and assess the skills that their students will need to thrive in a Digital Age and to connect their students to the world beyond the classroom.  Learning with One-to-One covers the following topics:

  • Instructional design in a one-to-one classroom
  • Exploration of the range of use of technology tools to enhance teaching and learning
  • Classroom management issues and solutions for a one-to-one classroom
  • Sustained tech support within the schools
  • Collaborating with colleagues to improve instruction by participating in peer reviews of activities

Student Engagement with One-to-One Course

The Student Engagement with One to One course will introduce educators to one of the most powerful factors affecting student achievement – student engagement. Participants will explore strategies in one to one learning environments, for transforming their units to better engage students by rethinking their content, student work products and teaching and learning processes. They will learn to identify the characteristics of engaged learners, assess their students’ level of engagement and reflect upon their own teaching practices for engaging students.  Student Engagement with One-to-One includes the following themes:

  • Characteristics of engaged learners and the connection to student achievement
  • Strategies for engaging students in their learning
  • Transforming units to engage students in one to one classrooms
  • Exploration of the range of use of technology tools to support student engagement
  • Classroom management issues and solutions for a one-to-one classroom

Introduction to Tablets in the Classroom

This course is designed for teachers who are about to implement tablets in a mobile teaching and learning environment. This training will empower you as a first time tablet user with new understanding about tablet features, navigation, applications, and file management.  You will also explore instructional strategies for student centered tablet-based learning, and tablet management techniques in your classroom. You will be introduced to new collaborative models for teaching and learning in mobile environment that meets the needs of all students.  Introduction to Tablets in the Classroom covers the following topics:

  • Instructional design and workflow in a tablet classroom
  • Anytime and anywhere learning access to online tools and resources
  • Classroom management, issues and solutions for a tablet classroom
  • Collaborative activities with mobile apps
