Founded in 2005 as a collaboration between UC Berkeley and Intel, Intel Global Challenge is the most prestigious business plan competition that encourages emerging entrepreneurs and rewards ideas that have the potential to foster new businesses or even new industries. At the competition, student teams from around the world vie for $100,000 in prize money and receive direct feedback from leaders in the Silicon Valley entrepreneur community.
The Intel Business Challenge Europe 2013, formed in 2005, is a part of Intel Global Challenge. The competition focuses on providing an opportunity for students and researchers, working closely with mentors and advisers from the industry and business community, to develop and present their innovative ideas in the areas of science, technology, engineering, computing, biology, health sciences, green economy, energy, and social entrepreneurship in the form of new business ventures or concepts. The most successful business plans are presented to a panel of investors as well as leaders in business and society. The winners can be rewarded with direct investments in cash prizes as well as an opportunity to compete with global finalists in the Intel Global Challenge.
In collaboration with prestigious educational institutions and non-profit entrepreneurship organizations across Europe, Intel is building business and entrepreneurship awareness among young people in the region as well as forging strong relationship with its key stakeholders. JA-YE Europe is Intel’s Strategic Partner in IBC Europe 2013. Through its international network and the Start Up Program, 20 countries will be supporting the promotion and participation of students in this exciting entrepreneurial opportunity.
Winners of Intel Business Challenge Europe (and other regional competitions) participate in the Intel Global Challenge finals held at UC Berkeley in the Fall of 2013.
