Intel® Digital Radio and Analog FM Receiver chips are designed for HD Radio*, HD Data Services, DAB, DAB+ and DMB-A. They deliver best-in-class, low power, small form factor solutions, enabling wide spread adoption of digital broadcast radio in mobile applications. Digital radio ushers a new era for listeners by adding visual interaction with the broadcast. With this transformation, it becomes a critical ingredient for handsets, tablets and other mobile devices, all having interactive displays.

Digital radio improves spectrum usage efficiency by adding more channels on the same frequency. For example, a HD Radio station can have up to 8 digital channels on the same frequency thus reaching an expanded audience by offering a variety of programming choices. Similarly, a DAB+ ensemble delivers typically 20 programs and capable of streaming up to 128 digital channels. Broadcast radio remains free-to-air.  Another essential differentiator for digital radio is the fact that it is the lowest cost terrestrial data pipe to deliver a wide range of data services for:
