Detailed Description

Purpose

This download record provides options for updating the BIOS for Intel® NUC Compute Elements CM8i7CB8N, CM8i5CB8N, CM8i3CB4N CM8PCB4R, CM8CCB4R (non-Intel vPro®).

Note: Do not use this BIOS for Intel® NUC Compute Element CM8v7CB8N, CM8v5CB8N which supports Intel vPro®.

Which file should I choose?

  • Express BIOS update [CBWHL.0094.EBU.exe] - Self-extracting Windows*-based update file, designed to be used on Windows systems.
  • F7 BIOS update [CB0094.CAP] - .CAP file to be used for F7 BIOS Update method. It requires a USB flash device.
  • UEFI BIOS update [CBWHL357.0094.UEFI.zip] - Allows you to update the BIOS from the EFI Shell. It requires a USB flash device.
  • BIOS Recovery [CBWHL357.0094.RECOVERY.zip] - In the unlikely event that a BIOS update is interrupted, it's possible the BIOS may be left in an unusable state. Use the recovery BIOS update to recover from this condition. It requires a USB flash device. Follow the recovery instructions in the BIOS update instructions.

Known Errata

EC Firmware cannot be updated when doing “F7” update from BIOS version CB0079 to CB0089. To overcome this known issue, please perform “F7” update twice when upgrading from CB0079 to CB0089.
