Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Intel have a long history of building cloud services that are designed to manage cost and complexity, accelerate business outcomes, and scale to meet current and future customer requirements.
AWS plans to offer Amazon EC2 instances powered by the newly introduced 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. These instances will expand customer choice and compute options available on Amazon EC2, as well as take advantage of the higher performance of the latest Intel processors.
M5zn instances are a high frequency, high network throughput, and low-latency networking variant of EC2 M5 instances, with custom Intel processors. M5zn instances offer the highest all-core turbo CPU performance from Intel Xeon Scalable processors in the cloud, with a frequency up to 4.5 GHz--an ideal fit for workloads such as gaming, financial applications, and simulation modeling.
Amazon EC2 instances powered by Gaudi accelerators are designed for training deep learning models and ideal for workloads such as natural language processing, object detection, recommendation, and personalization. The new EC2 instances will leverage up to 8 Gaudi accelerators and deliver up to 40% better price performance than current GPU-based EC2 instances for training deep learning models.
