Juan Pablo Muñoz is a Research Scientist at the Systems and Software Research Group at Intel Labs, where he focuses on Large-Scale Video Analytics and AutoML. He received his Ph.D. from the City University of New York. His research interests primarily include Computer Vision, Distributed Systems, and Human-Computer Interaction. Pablo has successfully led the design and development of localization systems for assisting visually impaired people to navigate indoors. He won the Best Conference Paper award for the paper “An Assistive Indoor Navigation System for the Visually Impaired in Multi-Floor Environments“ at IEEE Cyber 2017. At Intel Labs, Pablo has contributed to projects on intelligent middleware systems for dynamic allocation of computer vision pipelines, real-time video analytics systems, large-scale 3D skeletal reconstruction, video curation, and neural architecture search.
