The Intel® Galileo Gen 2 Board supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). PoE allows the board to get power and data through one Ethernet cable. For PoE, a module and PoE injector are required. For this example, we use:

Silvertel AG9700 Module
Silvertel AG9700 Module

TP-LINK PoE Injector
TP-LINK PoE Injector

Follow these steps:

  1. Solder the PoE module to the board.
    Step 1

  2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the Intel Galileo Gen 2 Board to the Power + Data Out port on the PoE injector.
    Step 2

  3. Connect an Ethernet cable jack from the wall, to the PoE injector LAN In port.

  4. Connect the Power Supply to the PoE injector, and to a wall (DC) outlet.
