Warranty Change Effective January 1, 2018
Intel® Ethernet Adapters that are discontinued will adhere to a 5 year warranty period from the date of Intel’s announcement of end of life or discontinuance.  Discontinued adapters that currently fall outside the 5 year period are no longer under Warranty. This change will be retroactive for all Intel Adapters.

Note Intel Adapters that are still active and shipping will continue to adhere to the Limited Lifetime Warranty policy.  This change only impacts retail Ethernet Adapters that have been announced discontinued.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the Warranty Policy being changed?

A: The Warranty Policy adjustment is an attempt to solve the challenge of replacing end-of-life adapters. A growing warranty support base, combined with discontinued Ethernet product families and a limited lifetime policy, has led to warranty replacement requests for Ethernet adapters that no longer exist. It is difficult to maintain an inventory for discontinued products that are no longer manufactured.

Q: What exactly is being changed in the Warranty Policy?

A: A new policy adjustment has been added for discontinued retail Ethernet adapters only. Intel® Ethernet Adapters that are discontinued will adhere to a 5 year warranty period from the date of Intel’s announcement of discontinuance. Discontinued adapters that currently fall outside the 5 year period are no longer under Warranty. This change will be retroactive for all retail Intel® Ethernet Adapters.

Q: Will this impact all retail Ethernet Adapters?

A: No. This change will only impact retail Ethernet Adapters that are currently discontinued. Intel® Ethernet Adapters that are active and shipping will continue to adhere to the Limited Lifetime Warranty policy.

Q: What can I expect if I contact customer support and request a replacement or refund for an adapter that is discontinued?

A: If the discontinued adapter falls outside the 5 year Warranty Policy for discontinued products, then it is no longer under Warranty and you cannot receive replacement, refund or store credit.

Q: Who do I contact about the Warranty Change if I have questions?

A: Contact Customer Support
