Does the Altera® Cyclone™ FPGA family support peripheral component interconnect (PCI)?

Environment

  • PCI
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Yes. In general, Cyclone device I/O banks 1 and 3 are compliant with the 3.3-V PCI Local Bus Specification Revision 2.1. See the Using Selectable I/O Standards in Cyclone Devices chapter of the Cyclone Device Handbook (Replaces AN 253) for more information on electrical compliance. For information on PCI intellectual property (IP) and timing compliance guidance, visit the IP MegaStore web site.

The following two tables list the specific Cyclone devices that support 32-bit and 64-bit PCI at 66MHz and 33MHz, respectively. Devices with a grey “Yes” cell in the “64-bit” column support 64-bit PCI at the specified PCI bus speed. Devices with a grey “Yes” cell in the “32-bit” column support 32-bit PCI at the specified PCI bus speed.
