Why does nSTATUS assert and stay low after a configuration failure in the Intel® Stratix® 10 devices when using configuration files generated in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v18.0?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

When configuring Intel® Stratix® 10 devices with a configuration file generated in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v18.0, you might see nSTATUS assert and remain low after a configuration error is detected. This behavior may be seen in all supported configuration modes other than JTAG configuration.

    Resolution

If nSTATUS asserts low due to a configuration failure, drive nCONFIG low after 1.5 ms and then back high to initiate reconfiguration. The nSTATUS signal will deassert to a high state to then allow reconfiguration to proceed.

This problem is fixed starting from the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v18.0.1.
