3.1.2.2. Resets

The Ethernet Toolkit is capable of asserting and de-asserting reset to the Ethernet IP.
  • Assert/De-assert Soft Global Reset: This button can be used to reset the entire design via soft global reset routine. It resets the data path and all CSR registers in-line with the rst_n signal port.
  • Assert/De-assert Soft TX Reset: This button can be used to reset all the modules in the TX data path of the IP (TX MAC, TX FEC, TX PCS, and TX PMA). It resets the entire TX section of the design isolating other sections of the design.
Note: The RX side status also changes based on the loopback configuration.
  • Assert/De-assert Soft RX Reset: This button can be used to reset all the modules in the RX data path of the IP (RX MAC, RX FEC, RX PCS, and RX PMA). It resets the entire RX section of the design isolating other sections of the design.

The following figures show a snapshot window for each of the functional reset feature.
